Please allow me to introduce myself. My name is Carmon Ferman, and I am a State of Michigan Licensed Clinical Social Worker providing outpatient therapeutic counseling services to adults, adolescents, families and couples both in-person and virtually both within the West Michigan area and statewide.
In order to provide some insight into my education and qualifications, I earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology from Central Michigan University and a Master’s Degree in Social Work from Western Michigan University. Currently, I provide outpatient therapeutic counseling services to populations presenting with a range of neurological and psychological disorders as well as emotional, behavioral, substance abuse, attention deficit disorders and developmental challenges, including individuals struggling in areas of trauma, employment and the stresses of daily living.
In my practice, I utilize my education and experience by means of providing guidance, the utilization of assessments and evidence-based therapeutic approaches in assisting my clients with reaching their goals and objectives. My therapeutic approaches are strengths-based and are eclectic in nature with emphasis placed on Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), solution focused therapy, and trauma work. In addition, I am certified in therapeutic approaches of Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorders; allowing me to engage individuals in initial screening and helping those with ADHD overcome challenges in their emotional, behavioral, relationship, and achievement lives.
